When you first come to the Occupational Therapy Department, a comprehensive evaluation is conducted to design a treatment plan just for you. The treatment sessions are then 30-60 minutes depending on the type of diagnosis and the treatment plan set up by the therapist.
The Occupational Hand Therapy Program works closely with the referring physician to rehabilitate patients who have sustained injury or problems with the upper extremity. The program also teaches preventive care such as ergonomics and joint protection All therapists are licensed in New York.
A referral by a physician is necessary. Most insurance is accepted. Please check with your carrier .
