MOUNT ALVERNO CENTER RESIDENTS, FAMILIES AND STAFF CELEBRATE GRANDPARENTS’ DAY

Family picnic held at Bon Secours Charity Health System’s Adult Home Facility

WARWICK – (September 22) On Thursday, September 20, Mount Alverno Center residents, family, staff and volunteers gathered together to enjoy a “Grandparents’ Day” picnic.

It was a great opportunity for generations of families to visit their loved ones and to enjoy a traditional end-of- summer celebration. The residents had looked forward to the food and musical entertainment all week. But they all stated that, most of all, they enjoyed getting together with their families and staff members for a fun afternoon.

The staff prepared lots of barbecue favorites including the traditional hamburgers and hot dogs. Staff, volunteers and family members then filled plates for residents and other guests gathered in the Center’s attractive lobby and dining rooms for the celebration. And the popular singer Rick Salucci was on hand to provide musical entertainment for the afternoon.

Mount Alverno Center is a New York State approved Adult Home with an Assisted Living Program on the Warwick Campus of the Bon Secours Charity Health System. Its goal is for each resident to maintain a maximum level of independence. Individualized care plans are designed to help residents reach their utmost daily potential. “We are grateful to the families, our staff and everyone who helped us make Grandparents Day such a wonderful success,” said Halina Mc Lean, Mount Alverno Administrator, ALP/Adult Home. “We’re happy that we could all enjoy this occasion together as a family.”
