Good Samaritan Donor Program

Good Samaritan Hospital operates the only hospital-based blood donor collection facility in the region. This allows Good Samaritan Hospital to meet the blood transfusion needs of our busy surgical, trauma, oncology, dialysis and medical services.

Half of all blood used in transfusions comes from donors from our community, where over 2,000 individuals donate annually at our Blood Bank. There are also numerous corporate and community groups participate in annual blood drives.

Good Samaritan Hospital's Blood Bank also provides pre-surgical autologous blood services. If you are having surgery you can (with your doctor's permission) set aside your own blood which can be reinfused during or after surgery.

  • Your choice! Donate for yourself, a family member, friend, in someone’s name or for the hospital’s general blood supply.
  • Used right here. When you donate at Good Samaritan Hospital, your blood is used at the hospital for our community.
  • Want to do more? If you or your organization would like to sponsor a blood drive, please contact us.
